MELODY BUTIU will be joining the Thailand Production of Land of Smiles with the combined casts from Los Angeles and Chiang Mai in the role of Woman 1/ Soon Nu. She most recently played Estrella in David Byrne and Fatboy Slim’s “Here Lies Love” at The Public Theater in New York, directed by Alex Timbers.

Melody stars as Mary in Gina M. Garcia’s upcoming feature film, “Untold.” She also appears in the films, Blood Ransom and Atonal. Her Television credits include; NCIS, Melissa & Joey, Harry’s Law, True Blood, No Ordinary Family, Desperate Housewives, Modern Family, Samantha Who, Cold Case, Without A Trace, Rules Of Engagement, Scrubs, Invasion, and General Hospital.

She has been awarded the AriZoni Award for Best Actress and has performed in the world premiere and Pulitzer Prize nominated productions at Getty Villa, Geffen Playhouse, Playwrights Arena, Perserverance Theatre, Boston Court, Singapore Rep, East West Players, San Diego Rep, Reprise!, La Jolla Playhouse, Geva, Portland Center Stage and Laguna Playhouse.
